book review: never let me go

I picked this book up off the bookshelf after it had been sitting there for, gosh, probably about two years.   I think it's probably one of the many books I got from the free box while working at Changing Hands that I never got around to reading.  Well since I decided recently that I wasn't going to buy anymore books until I read all the ones I already have, I decided to give it a try.

The first few pages definitely pull you in.  The author is an expert at giving you a few details while still leaving you wondering just exactly what the deal is.  I enjoyed how significant pieces of the puzzle are slowly revealed to you throughout the book.  Although, it seems that the author deliberately chose to use this style of slowing peeling back the layers, I felt that it was just a little too slow paced.  My brother said this was the case with The Remains of the Day as well.

If you like well constructed novels with a slightly science fiction-esque twist, give it a try...but don't expect too much excitement.
